A voice shaped by colour, expression and a deep curiosity for the music behind every character.

Sandra Šarikovaitė is a Lithuanian soprano based in Salzburg, with a particular affinity for Verdi and the lyric-dramatic repertoire.

Her musical world extends from opera to Lied, shaped by a love of vocal colour, expressive freedom and the constant search for a deeper connection between music, text and character.

About

Lithuanian soprano Sandra Šarikovaitė is a young dramatic soprano whose repertoire is developing particularly towards the lyric-dramatic writing of Verdi, alongside Mozart, Puccini, Weber and Strauss. Combining vocal richness with flexibility and a strong sense of musical and dramatic expression, she is building a repertoire centred on roles that demand both vocal colour and dramatic presence.

Her concert appearances have brought her to stages including the Teatro Gaetano Donizetti in Bergamo, Teatro Comunale di Sassari, Teatro Municipale di Piacenza, Dzintari Concert Hall, Varna State Opera, Polish Baltic Philharmonic and Kaunas State Philharmonic. She has appeared with the Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana, Latvian National Opera Orchestra, Orchestra of Varna State Opera, Ente de Carolis Sassari Orchestra, Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra and Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, collaborating with conductors including Daniele Agiman, Mārtiņš Ozoliņš, Daniel Smith and Jonas Janulevičius.

An interpretation that is both musically truthful and deeply human.

An important chapter in her artistic development was her participation in The Georg Solti Academy 2023 in Castiglione della Pescaia, where she worked in an environment shaped by artists including Leo Nucci, Richard Bonynge, Barbara Frittoli, Jonathan Papp, Jonathan Palmer Lakeland, Stefano Baldasseroni and Freddie De Tommaso. Further artistic impulses have come through masterclasses with Violeta Urmana, Krassimira Stoyanova, Anna Lucia Richter and Siobhan Stagg, alongside her work with Alessandro Misciasci.

At the heart of Šarikovaitė’s repertoire is Verdi, with roles including Leonora in Il trovatore, Luisa Miller in Luisa Miller, Elvira in Ernani and Elena in I vespri siciliani. Her Puccini repertoire includes Mimì in La bohème, Liù in Turandot. Her repertoire further encompasses Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Agathe in Weber’s Der Freischütz, and Ariadne in Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos. Her repertoire reflects an artistic direction drawn to roles in which dramatic expression is inseparable from line, flexibility, colour and vocal nuance.

A graduate pianist as well as a soprano, Šarikovaitė brings a strong musical foundation to her work and a natural understanding of the score beyond the vocal line. She graduated from the University Mozarteum Salzburg and is a student of Prof. Dr. Michèle Crider. Her private vocal studies have also included work with Prof. Vincenzo Manno and Eglė Wyss.

Her artistic development has also brought her to international singing competitions including the Tenor Viñas Contest, Neue Stimmen, Opera Crown and the Hans Staud Musikpreis in Vienna.

At the centre of Šarikovaitė’s artistic journey is a continuing curiosity for the voice, the music and the characters she brings to life. As her repertoire grows, she is drawn to roles that unite vocal beauty and flexibility with emotional depth — always searching for an interpretation that is both musically truthful and deeply human.

Studio

The stage shows the result. The Studio holds everything that came before.

For me, being a singer is not only about the moments we see on stage. It is also about the quiet work behind them — studying, rehearsing, listening, questioning, discovering, and beginning again.

This is my personal space for that process: rehearsals, musical encounters, new repertoire, works in progress and the countless small steps through which a voice and an artist continue to grow.

Sometimes polished, sometimes unfinished — always evolving.
